Yarn-Ball Bookmark!

O.K. So we found this idea on Pinterest, followed the link to a blog, then followed that blog's link to another blog! And now we are posting it on our blog! Enjoy!

Supplies:
Scissors 

Yarn

YES! That's all! But you'll want your scissors to be sharp :)

*Before you start, cut an 8-10 inch piece of yarn and a 15 inch piece of yarn. Just set them aside to be used in later steps. 

Wrap the yarn around about three fingers (snug, but not too tight) about 90 times.

Next, use your 8-10 inch piece of yarn and wrap it around the center of your yarn ball (as shown above).

Thirdly, use your 15 inch piece to make a tail (tying it around the 8-10 inch piece).

Fourthly-we can't believe that's a word!-, cut the loopy part (the picture explains it better)

Finally, give your pompom thingamagiger a haircut! But be sure not to cut the 'tail'.

And that's it! You're done! Now, we're going to try and make one that doesn't fall apart looks awesome!

Food Friday: Puppy Chow

This week* we made puppy chow! 

This is a really easy recipe too!-

1/2 C. Peanut Butter

1/4 C. Butter

1 C. Chocolate Chips

1/2 Tsp. Vanilla

9 C. Crispix Cereal (Any of those grated cereals will work)

1 1/2 C. Powdered Sugar

Combine peanut butter, butter, and chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for for minute, then stir to blend all ingredients thoroughly (additional minutes in the microwave may be necessary). Add vanilla. Stir well. Place the 9 cups of Crispix cereal in a plastic (like Tupperware) container. Cover with powdered sugar. Close lid of container and shake thoroughly.

Spa Sunday: Lip Exfoliating...Stuff

We know! Classy title, but this stuff really works! But when the Fall and Winter months hit hard and you're still there forgetting chap-stick even exists, this stuff is here for you! So here's the recipe we're sure you'll be trying soon! :)-

Ingrediants:

1/2 Tsp. Honey

1 Tsp. Sugar
YIELD: For one set of normal-sized lips

After mixing, apply to lips in a circular motion. Rinse off and apply chap-stick!

Tada! #1 is finally here! Our number one thing in the world and our number zero thing-least favorite, ever-in the whole world! Its been super fun posting all of these and thanks for hanging on! But remember, we'll still be posting, updating, and making you laugh for years to come!
So any ideas? Top ten favorite...actors, animals? Or did you guys enjoy the least favorites better? Foods, or maybe sayings? Any ideas you have would be great and you can add in the comments below! Again, remember, this is not the end of our blogging journey so don't leave us now!

Favorite

Shoes!

Why?

• They come in all styles!
• People wear them everyday, so they're a necessity, which makes it easier to get our moms to buy them for us!
• Why not? Yes, we know, good reason!

Least Favorite

Spaghetti

Why?

• It tastes gross.
• It makes me, Ashton, sick to the stomach. Not throw-upy, but sick.
• It takes a while to cook.
• (YUP! Another fourth reason!) The smell it sends through the house only smells good for a little bit.

Clothes

Why?

• At the end of the day, everyone really needs them, so unlike everything else on this list, they're a necessity. 
• They come in cute, and some things only come in ugly! Another reason why we need them!
• They come in comfy, and some things only come in...not comfy! ANOTHER reason why we need them!

Least Favorite

Lip-liner

Why?

• A lot of people just overdo it so it's best to not have it!
• It's really hard to find one that matches your lip-color, lipstick (or lip-gloss), and skin-tone!
• It's a weird thing that really just doesn't add to the effect of a face! 
• (Yes, a fourth reason!) It minuses* from your bank account!

*So that may not be a word, but there was not scraggly red line beneath it, so we called it good!

Skinny Jeans with Shoes!

You may think this is a really weird post, but think about it...Right now, skinny jeans are really 'in'! Colored ones, patterned ones, dark-washed, and just plain ones! But not everyone knows what SHOES to wear with them! So we made it very simple, there are the ones that compliment skinny jeans (+) and the ones that...don't (-).

1) Ballet Flats
2) Flip-Flops
3) Boots (any kind!)
4) Heels (once again, any kind!)

-
1) Tennis shoes! Please don't! Please! They're horrible!
2) Gladiator sandals, they get all mixed up in the jeans.

So that is our style, you may or may not like these ideas, but we had to post about something!...So please remember these tips when getting dressed, but always stick to what YOU LIKE. Because you're you, and no one else is!

Movie Review: "The Dark Knight Rises"

Rating: PG-13

Our Rating: 12 and up

Can Compare Rating To: "Spiderman 3"

Pros

• Casting: Overall, great casting, all actors fit their parts (especially Anne Hathaway and Gary Oldman)
• Acting: Very well done, you can understand people's intentions and thoughts in their faces and tone of voice. Something every actor aspires to be able to do.
• Plot: Isn't this obvious? Incredible, it twists and turns, and you keep wondering till the very end, where everything makes sense...or does it?

Middles

• Violence: -We don't know where to put this, violence is pretty essential for the point of the movie, but it shouldn't be enforced. So, we made up the "Middles", which are 'things that are essential for movies but don't quite fit as a "pro".'-And thus said, it was essential!

Cons

• There are a few things we cannot talk about here because it isn't "appropriate for younger ages", so we put up the link above that we trust which goes into all the details.
• Language: Not too bad, definitely not PG  but then again definitely not R; however, we didn't count.
• Drugs/Alcohol: Nothing really...unless you count rich people drinking champagne and NOT getting drunk...

Conclusion

• A great movie, but parents need to preview or trust their 11-and-under-children with this kind of a movie before allowing them to watch it. 
• We could add a "Spoiler Alert", but we find it's better to just let you watch it yourselves!

Favorite

Nail Polish!

Why?

• They come in all colors!
• We know the ins and outs of painting our nails, so they (usually) turn out awesome!
• It's something you can feel good about even on your lazy day!

Least Favorite

Spiders!

Why?

• Ewwwwwwww!
• They crawl all creepy!
• All they do is kill flies, but flies are better than spiders!

Nail Polish!

Today's post is about nail polish! Why? Because Ashton did a science project about it and you will be fascinated (hopefully)! So here are our tips, scientific and not. ;)

1) Don't use a base coat! It doesn't help (science project FACT!)!

2) Be thinking about your outfits when applying your nail polish, you don't want to mix the wrong colors together!

3) For french tips, use paper or tape to make it straight! And when you get comfortable with that, you can use craft scissors to make it have a pattern!

4) Make sure your toes and fingernails match, if they don't it looks tacky...but if you just paint one and not the other, that works too!

5) Try having an accent nail! Which is one nail that is different than all the others, like maybe all the nails blue and a yellow sun on the right pointer finger!

6) Nails breaking? Don't let them tear off and have to restart growing your nails! take off your nail polish and SUPER-GLUE IT!
